1.Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
The best Android phone
Specifications:
Weight: 229g
Dimensions: 77.9 x 163.3 x 8.9mm
OS: Android 12
Screen Size: 6.8 inch
Resolution: 1440 x 3200 pixels
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 / Exynos 2200
RAM: 8GB/12GB
Memory: 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB
Battery: 5000mAh
Rear cameras: 108MP + 10MP + 10MP + 12MP
Front camera: 40MP
Pros of
- Seriously powerful hardware
- Universal camera with artificial intelligence features
- S Pen comes in a handy slot
Cons:
- Expensive
- No microSD card slot
For those on a budget, and want to buy a better Android smartphone. In that case, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is worth considering. It is beautiful with a large screen, and it has S Pen stylus nicely hidden in its casing.
Whether you are a creative, professional or smartphone lover, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is a flagship that can do it all. Flip through open documents, take quick notes, take fantastic pictures, edit your photos or play mobile games - the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has the hardware and software for almost any task.
With the latest 4nm processor (Exynos 2200 in Russia and Europe or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 elsewhere), 5G and Wi-Fi 6E, as well as the latest in mobile gaming, you're guaranteed good speed wherever you are and whatever you're doing. And with a 5000mAh battery, you'll be able to work all day long.
Made from heavy-duty Armor aluminium and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, it's tough and durable, and the IP68 rating means you'll be protected from water and dust.
The camera system is killer too. Although it uses the same technology as its predecessor, the S22 contains many new and improved features, such as a night mode that works with stills and video. You'll even be able to use some of the camera's features directly from your social media apps.
Stylish and fit for its purpose, the design of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra looks like a mini pad and is available in several colours: burgundy, phantom black, phantom white and green.
2.OnePlus 10 Pro
The best phone you can buy with your money
Specifications:
Weight: 201 g
Dimensions: 163 x 73.9 x 8.6mm
OS: Android 12
Screen Size: 6.7 inches
Resolution: 1440 x 3216
Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
RAM: 8/12GB
Memory: 128/256GB
Battery: 5000mAh
Rear camera: 48 MP + 50 MP + 8 MP
Front camera: 32 MP
Pros of
- Fantastic screen
- Super fast charging
- Excellent battery life
Cons:
- The camera is only 8MP
- With a price that's lower than the major competitors and even lower than the OnePlus 9 Pro's starting price, it's easy to recommend the OnePlus 10 Pro.
At that price, you get a phone with an incredibly fast 80W charging, a big, bright and beautiful 6.7-inch screen with 1440 x 3216 resolution, top-end power and a brilliant design.
Where it loses a bit is in the cameras, which are generally excellent but erratic. Portrait mode is often blurry, the colour profile visibly changes when switching between lenses, and the 8-megapixel camera lens fails when it exceeds the 3.3x optical zoom.
However, most of the time - especially with the 48-megapixel main camera and 50-megapixel ultraWide-angle camera - the photos come out good, so even that's actually a minor complaint.
Considering the price and everything that makes the OnePlus 10 Pro right choice, it's highly recommended and is one of the best Android phones out there.
3.Google Pixel 6 Pro
Best phone with solid Android
Specifications:
Weight: 210g
Dimensions: 163.9 x 75.9 x 8.9mm
OS: Android 12
Screen Size: 6.71 inches
Resolution: 1440 x 3120
Processor: Google Tensor
RAM: 12GB
Memory: 128GB/256GB/512GB
Battery: 5003mAh
Rear camera: 50MP + 48MP + 12MP
Front camera: 11.1 MP
Pros:
- Universal camera
- Big and beautiful screen
- More affordable than other smartphones
Cons:
- Less battery life than competitors
The Google Pixel 6 Pro is the highest-end phone Google has ever produced, with a 6.7-inch QHD+ display that's very clear and impressive bright. It also has a high-performance camera with three lenses: a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle and a 48MP telephoto lens (with 4x optical zoom).
Also, there's its Google Tensor chipset, which is a dedicated processor designed specifically for the Pixel 6 range and capable of delivering very smooth performance - although in tests it's ranked lower than the best Android chipsets, such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Other highlights include Android 12 software out of the box and a unique, though divisive, design. The Pixel 6 Pro's battery life could have been better, but as a demonstration of Android, it's an impressive phone.
4.Samsung Galaxy S22
Best small Android smartphone
Specifications:
Dimensions: 70.6 x 146 x 7.6 mm
Weight: 168g
Screen: Dynamic AMOLED 2X FHD+ (2400×1080)
Refresh rate: 120Hz
Brightness: 1300 nits (peak)
Processor: Exynos 2200 / Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
RAM: 8GB
Memory: 128GB / 256GB
Rear Camera: 12MP + 50MP + 10MP
Front camera: 10MP
Battery: 3700mAh
OS: Android 12
Pros
- Stunning Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen
- Lots of new AI based camera features
- Powerful hardware
Cons
- Not much different from S21
The Samsung Galaxy S22 has the flagship-level specs without being overpriced, and it's small enough to fit in your hand or pocket. You get a stunning screen, a feature-rich camera system, and Samsung has used recycled ocean plastic, such as discarded fishing nets, to make it.
While it has not much changed from the Samsung Galaxy S21, the OS and design have been updated slightly to bring it up to date.
The plastic body is a thing of the past, the phone is now made of Armor aluminium alloy and Corning Gorilla Glass, both strong and durable, so it should withstand drops and bumps. It's also IP68 rated, which means it is waterproof and dustproof.
It runs on the latest 4nm processor, which will be either Exynos 2200 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, depending on which part of the world you're in. It has been linked to a new NPU, which is supposedly twice as fast as on the S21, and helps improve the effectiveness of the phone's AI-powered features, such as the night camera mode.
Price is also very affordable and with all this in mind, we recommend the Samsung Galaxy S22 as the best Android phone for most people.
5.Xiaomi 12 Pro
The best Xiaomi phone at the moment
Specifications:
Weight: 205g
Dimensions: 163.6 x 74.6 x 8.2mm
OS: Android 12
Screen Size: 6.7 inch
Resolution: 1440 x 3200
Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
RAM: 8GB/12GB
Memory: 128GB/256GB
Battery: 4600mAh
Rear camera: 50 MP + 50 MP
Front camera: 32 MP
Pros:
- Premium design
- Incredibly fast charging
- Nice camera
Cons:
- Limited optical zoom
- No IP rating
The Xiaomi 12 Pro is a 'Pro' phone at a slightly lower price than this suffix usually indicates, but that doesn't mean it skimped on features such as a screen that offers excellent colour accuracy and an incredibly fast 120W charge, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is full of highlights.
Other aspects we impressed by the Xiaomi 12 Pro include the sleek, well-designed look, the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and the large 5,000mAh battery.
The limited 2x optical zoom camera lens let it down a bit, as did its slightly bulky software, but these are minor flaws in an exceptional package, and all the more forgivable given that the Xiaomi 12 Pro undermines most of its competitors.
6.Asus Phone 6 Pro.
Best Android gaming phone
Specifications:
Screen size: 6.8-inch AMOLED (2488 x 1080; 165Hz)
OS: Android 12, ROG UI or Zen UI
Processor: Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1
RAM: 18GB
Memory: 512GB
Battery: 6000mAh
Rear cameras: 50 MP (f/1.9) main camera, 13 MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle, 5 MP macro
Front camera: 12 MP
Pros:
- Incredible battery life
- Outstanding performance
- Fantastic dynamics and tactile engine
Cons:
- Expensive compared to other gaming phones
- Unnecessary macro lens
The Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro is geared towards gamers with a design that includes AirTriggers and a rear colour OLED panel on which you can play context-specific animations. But even if you're not into gaming, this phone's battery life is worth a look. With a 6000mAh battery, the ROG Phone 6 Pro lasted 15.5 hours in an independent battery test - the longest running phone in years.
The system on the chip that powers the Asus ROG Phone 6 also stands out - it's the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, which offers a noticeable performance boost even when compared to phones with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Asus' 18GB of RAM certainly helps, and in testing the ROG Phone 6 Pro outperformed devices like the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
You can debate about whether anyone really needs a gaming phone, but Asus has done its best to make the ROG Phone 6 Pro one of the best Android phones released this year.
7.Oppo Find X5 Pro
The perfect all-rounder for the Android Smartphone
Specifications:
A great all-round flagship for Android Weight: 218g
Dimensions: 163.7 x 73.9 x 8.8 mm
OS: Android 12
Screen Size: 6.7 inches
Resolution: 1440 x 3216
Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
RAM: 8/12GB
Memory: 256/512GB
Battery: 5000mAh
Rear camera: 50 MP + 13 MP
Front camera: 32 MP
Pros:
- Great main camera
- Super fast charging
Cons:
- Poor camera zoom
- Glitchy software
While the Oppo Find X5 Pro is in many ways an upgrade from the Oppo Find X3 Pro (without the X4 model), it's also a slight drop in at least one aspect, as it lacks its predecessor's impressive microscope camera.
Still, it was a niche feature, so not the biggest loss, and the 50-megapixel main camera here is fantastic, though the limited 2x optical zoom telephoto lens is less impressive.
Almost everything about the Oppo Find X5 Pro is impressive, from its 80W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging to the wonderfully customisable software, its ceramic coating (which is unusual for a phone) and, of course, the chipset and screen, which is appropriate for a smartphone. With all this and more, it's one of the best Android phones out there.
8.Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
Still a great Android ultra Smartphone
Specifications:
Weight: 229g
Dimensions: 165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9mm (6.5 x 2.98 x 0.35 inch)
OS: Android 11
Screen Size: 6.8 inch
Resolution: 1440 x 3200 pixels
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 / Exynos 2100
RAM: 12GB/16GB
Memory: 256GB/512GB
Battery: 5000mAh
Rear cameras: 108MP + 10MP + 10MP + 12MP
Front camera: 40MP
Pros:
- Beautiful smooth screen with 120Hz
- Extremely powerful hardware
- Impressive camera system
- Supports S Pen digital stylus
Cons
- Expensive, even though it's reduced in price
- S Pen not included
Samsung's penultimate top smartphone, the Galaxy S21 Ultra, is an absolute beast among phones and has successfully knocked down Android rivals, with a super-powerful hardware and software arsenal of technological weapons.
First, the phone provides 5G connectivity, as well as all 5G standards, including sub-6, mmWave and NSA. Fast mobile data connectivity is guaranteed. Further, the phone has a simply stunning 6.8-inch 120Hz display that is as smooth as it is big and exciting.
The S21 Ultra has a fast Snapdragon 888 processor and Adreno 660 graphics chip, and the max version has a whopping 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Its battery is also impressive: a massive 5,000mAh stack ensures that the phone has lots of power.
Which is not to mention the camera system, with four powerful lenses (including a 108MP main lens!), as well as a large 40MP front-facing camera for selfies.
The S21 Ultra has a very unique feature that is only used in Samsung's Note series phones - it supports the use of a digital stylus. This means that users can use the Samsung S-Pen digital stylus on the S21 Ultra. However, unlike Note series phones, the S21 Ultra doesn't come with a stylus and cannot store it in the case.
Add to that the amazingly improved Android 11 OS, as well as Samsung's best-in-class One UI skin, and it's easy to see why the S21 Ultra has been so well accepted by users.
9. Google Pixel 6
The best smartphone for Android fans
Specifications:
Weight: 207g
Dimensions: 158.6 x 74.8 x 8.9mm
OS: Android 12
Screen Size: 6.4 inches
Resolution: 1080 x 2400
CPU: Google Tensor (5nm)
RAM: 8GB
Memory: 128GB/256GB
Battery: 4614mAh
Rear camera: 50MP + 12MP
Front camera: 8MP
Pros:
- Tensor chip is impressive
- Great camera
- Bright display
- The cleanest version of Android
Cons
- No telephoto lens
- The camera notch is large and uncomfortable
Google's Pixel 6 has the most premium and accomplished experience the Pixel series has ever had, retaining the best features of the Pixel 4 and 5, namely superb photography and clean software, and then packing into a more premium design.
The Google Pixel 6's new Tensor processor, created by Google itself, along with the phone's excellent cameras, bright screen and the cleanest version of the Android operating system ensure it ranks among the best. The Pixel 6 is also quite beautiful, with a distinctive bold design unlike any other brand.
Another good thing is the Pixel 6's affordable price, though not quite in cheap phone territory, it's very competitive compared to other Android smartphone devices.
Overall, if you're a fan of photography and like an optimised clean version of Android, the Pixel 6 is the phone for you.
10. Realme GT 2.
The best mid-range Android phone
Specifications:
Weight: 194.5g
Dimensions: 162.9 x 75.8 x 8.6mm
OS: Android 12
Screen Size: 6.62 inch
Resolution: 1080 x 2400
Processor: Snapdragon 888
RAM: 8GB / 12GB
Memory: 128GB / 256GB
Battery: 5000mAh
Rear camera: 50MP + 8MP + 2MP
Front camera: 16MP
Pros:
- Powerful processor
- Very good main camera
Cons:
- Poor secondary cameras
- Requires customization of the user interface
The Realme GT 2 isn't one of the biggest names on this list, but Realme could soon be talked about in the same breath as Samsung and OnePlus if it keeps releasing such phones.
However, this phone isn't exactly trying to play in the same league as those top brands phones, as it's more of a mid-range variant with a chipset that was top-of-the-range a year ago, and an FHD+ (rather than a QHD+ screen).
But that's all combined with an extremely reasonable price, and some real points here, including a 50-megapixel main camera that can take great photos in almost any situation.
It's a powerful phone for its money, featuring the same chipset as the OnePlus 9 Pro, back panel made of an unusual paper-like biopolymer, and a fairly fast 65W charge.
The optional cameras aren't impressive, battery life is unremarkable and there's no wireless charging, but if you can put up with these issues, you'll find the Realme GT 2 easy to love.
