IFA 2022: Nokia X30 and G60 Smartphones Announced

 At IFA 2022, HMD global unveiled the Nokia T21 tablet as well as the Nokia X30 5G and G60 5G mid-range smartphones, which the manufacturer claims are the company's most eco-friendly gadgets.


Nokia G60 & Nokia G60 5G

The Nokia G60 5G is 60% recycled plastic and features a 6.58-inch display with FHD+ resolution. The screen is covered by Gorilla Glass 5. The gadget has a Snapdragon 695 processor inside, 4/6GB RAM, and 64/128GB ROM. There is a microSD card slot.

The device also gets a 50 + 5 + 2MP triple main camera, an 8MP selfie camera and a 4,500mAh battery. Fast charging with 20W power is supported. The smartphone has a hybrid dual card slot (two NanoSIMs, or SIM + MicroSD). There is a USB-C 2.0 port, Wi-Fi 6 (ax), Bluetooth 5.1, NFC.and IP52 water and dust protection.

Nokia X30 5G

Compared to last year's Nokia X20, the X30 5G features a more rugged design, with the body using 100% recycled aluminium and the back panel made from polycarbonate - 65% recycled material.

Nokia X30 gets a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution (2400×1080) and an increased refresh rate of up to 90Hz.Screen is coated with Gorilla Glass Victus. The smartphone has received IP67 water and dust protection. The smartphone is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor with 6/8GB RAM, and 128/256GB ROM. Battery capacity is 4,200mAh. It supports 33W fast charging.

The main camera is dual:

50MP main sensor with OIS;
13 megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.
Night mode 2.0 is supported. The resolution of the selfie camera is 16 megapixels. The OS used is Android 12. It also returns a three-year OS update warranty, and regular monthly security updates.

Nokia C31

HMD says the Nokia C31 can provide 3 days of battery life thanks to a 5050mAh battery. The smartphone features a Unisoc 9863A1 processor with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB to 128GB of expandable storage. A 13-megapixel primary sensor leads the screen measures 6.7 inches (720p resolution) and its trio of rear cameras.

HMD promises to support the Nokia C31 with two-year security updates, but the smartphone won't receive any numbered Android OS updates.

Sales start date, price
Sales of the new products will start shortly near in the future. The Nokia X30 5G will cost from €530 and the Nokia G60 5G will cost from €320. The Nokia C31 costs just €129.

Circular subscription

Circular is a new way to use HMD Global's smartphones and tablets. The subscription allows you to replace a broken or lost device after a few years of use at no extra cost. The given gadget will be repaired, recycled and resold (or donated). UK and German residents will be the first to have access to the subscription.

For example, the subscription will charge £25 per month for the Nokia X30 5G and £12.50 per month for the Nokia G60 5G.
