Google warns its users
For the sixth time this year, they have discovered a critical vulnerability in the software.
Google released an urgent update to the Google Chrome browser late last week to fix a zero-day vulnerability, a class of problem for which programmers have conditionally zero days to solve. That's because the developer finds out about the vulnerability later than the attackers, and the situation becomes many times more dangerous. According to Google employees, cybercriminals are already actively exploiting the bug in their attacks.
Therefore, the company strongly recommends updating Chrome for Windows, Linux, and Mac devices to version 105.0.5195.102. Users of Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi running on the Chromium engine are also being advised to check for programme updates.
They have not disclosed exact details of the vulnerability yet, so as not to give attackers more ways to harm browser users. All we know is that the problem is code named CVE-2022-3075. It relates to data validation in the Mojo inter-process communication library.
An anonymous security researcher reported the bug to the developers.
