The Cadillac Lyriq is the American luxury car brand's first foray into the electric vehicle market. While it remains to be seen if it will be the best of the best, it is a promising preview of Cadillac's future as an all-electric company.
Driving Experience:
The Lyriq offers a smooth, quiet, and powerful driving experience, with acceleration that is delightful without being too intense. It is available as either a single motor rear-wheel drive or a dual motor all-wheel drive, with the latter offering more power and torque. However, the Lyriq currently does not come equipped with Super Cruise, Cadillac's hands-free highway driving assistant, which will be available after the first over-the-air software update.Design and Interior:
The Lyriq boasts a sleek and stylish exterior design, with a futuristic grille and slim headlights. The interior is luxurious and comfortable, with white leather upholstery and plenty of high-tech features, including a 33-inch curved LED display that serves as both the instrument panel and infotainment system.
Battery and Charging:
The Lyriq is powered by GM's new Ultium battery platform, which offers a range of up to 300 miles on a single charge. It can be charged at a rate of up to 150 kW at a DC fast charger, allowing for a 0-80% charge in around 30 minutes. It can also be charged at a rate of up to 11 kW at a level 2 charger.
